drivingDirection From the East: Massachusetts Turnpike Exit 3 (Westfield). Follow Rte. 10-202 South to Rte. 20. Proceed west on Rte. 20 for about 6 miles. Turn left onto Rte. 23 West. Follow Rte. 23 West through Blandford into Otis. About 1 mile past the Otis townline, turn left onto West Shore Road, then left onto Tolland Road. Follow signs. From North or South: Rte. 8 to Otis. facilitiesDescription This 93 site campground gives a unique and intimate experience. The facilities include a boat ramp, dump station, beach and picnic area. There are comfort stations located throughout the campground with flushing toilets and showers. Each site comes with a fire ring and picnic table. There are NO HOOKUPS at this campground, however a dumping station is available for the convenience of our RV and trailer campers. Be bear aware: Don't forget you are in Black Bear country. Never physically confront, feed, torment or throw anything at bears. Take appropriate precautions with food so as not to attract bears.

importantInformation Specific to this facility: Beginning of July campers: Each year Tolland hosts a fireworks display the week after July 4th. Please check with park staff for this year's schedule. The beach, swimming and picnic areas will close at noon for the entire day of the fireworks display. Please read the important information below, prior to making a reservation. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all Massachusetts state parks and campgrounds. Massachusetts prohibits the transportation of firewood into or out of any DCR campground. Firewood must be purchased at the campground. Transportation of firewood or other wood products, may result in eviction. Check-in time is 1:00 to 9:00 pm; check out by 11:00 am. Quiet hours are 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. The use of generators is not permitted during quiet hours except for the purpose of operating a medical device. Reservation and Occupancy: Campers and/or camping equipment are limited to 14 cumulative days occupancy in any one park between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Violators of the 14-day limit may have their reservation cancelled and be asked to leave the park. Reservations must be in the name of the primary occupant, who is at least 18 years of age. A photo ID is required at check- in and must match the name on the reservation. Campsite occupancy is limited to four adults, or two adults and the children in their care. Campsites are limited to two tents, or one tent and one trailer or RV, and two vehicles maximum (including tow trailers) per site. Reservations with departure dates outside the 6-month maximum window cannot be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made. Cancellations and changes will incur a $10 fee. Day of arrival cancellations require a phone call to the campground and will result in the loss of the first night's camping fee, plus the $10 cancellation fee. Reserved campsites will be held until 8:00 am on the day after your scheduled arrival date. If we are not contacted, your reservation will be no-showed resulting in no refund. Camping with Pets: Pets are permitted at most campgrounds and there is a limit of four pets per campsite. A current rabies certificate must be presented at check-in. Pets must be leashed at all times and cannot be left unattended. Pets are not permitted in state buildings or when camping in a yurt or cabin.

In season, the Forest is a popular camping destination offering the unique opportunity to camp on a scenic lake peninsula.
recreationDescription The centerpiece of this state forest, located in the rolling southern Berkshire Hills, is the 1,065-acre Otis Reservoir. The lake provides a wide variety of recreational activities. A public boat launch ramp is available, popular with fishermen seeking out trout and bass in the lake's depths. Hunting is open (in season) for all types of game including turkey, bear and deer. The Forest also provides several multi-use trails open year-round. There is also a wooded lakeside picnic area with a sandy beach and a public boat launch. Tolland is one of DCR's recreation areas for only OHVs (Street Legal).
